Shower Program

Shower The People provides mobile showers at several locations throughout Nashville. We are currently providing showers out of our retrofitted school bus. Our shower bus contains two full private bathrooms with plenty of room for our guests to feel comfortable while showering.

In addition to providing all the supplies they need to take advantage of our services as well as new socks and underwear; our guests receive take-with-them kits to meet their dental and hygienic needs when they do not have access to our shower bus. These kits include soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.

Laundry Program

In 2021, thanks to the support of The Memorial Foundation, HCA Healthcare Foundation, and The Frist Foundation, Shower The People purchased a mobile laundry trailer that contains four stackable units. With that trailer, STP has launched two laundry programs: our encampment-based program and our Handle with Care program.

Our encampment-based program provides weekly laundry service to several encampments throughout the city enabling participants to have their clothing washed each week at no charge. 
 
Our Handle with Care program was made possible by the Nashville Predators Foundation and provides free laundry services to our low-income MNPS families who have been referred by one of our partners like the MNPS HEROS program.
